Download and open
- Download the Windows x64 ZIP from the official download section.
- Extract the entire Sill folder. Open Sill.exe inside it; keep the accompanying files together.
- Keep your old build until you have confirmed the new one works. Close it before switching builds.
Sill currently ships as an unsigned portable beta for Windows 10 / 11. There is no phone or tablet app, signed installer or extension store yet.
Find your tools
Menu → Passwords & autofill
Import a browser password CSV. Add encrypted address, contact and card profiles. On an HTTPS page, choose Autofill and select the saved entry. Staged logins never submit automatically.
Menu → History & bookmarks
Choose a detected browser profile or import a Chromium History database, Firefox places.sqlite or JSON export. Close the source browser if its database is locked. Search your latest 20,000 unique URLs.
Menu → Developer tools
Pick colors, copy HEX, inspect page details and capture PNGs. Full-page and scroll-first captures require Inspect closed and have a 30,000 px / 60 megapixel limit.

Questions & recovery
A site breaks with protection on
Open Protection. Temporarily allow the domain until Sill closes, or save an exception. Turn protection back on there when you finish. Changes reload affected pages.
Autofill cannot find a field
Focus the matching form and choose Autofill. Standard HTTPS forms are supported, including many staged logins. Embedded payment frames, cloud wallets, one-time codes and some custom controls are unsupported. Do not expect automatic submission.
Where is my profile?
Preferences, history and encrypted saved data live separately from the portable app, in %APPDATA%\Sill. Downloading a new build retains that profile. Password encryption is tied to this Windows account.
How do updates work?
The New update indicator appears for a newer release. Download and extract the new ZIP, then close the old browser and open the new build. Updates are not automatically installed.
Why did a tab reload?
Safe inactive tabs can sleep after five minutes. Waking them reloads the page. Sill conservatively keeps forms, editors, embedded content, media and pending uploads awake; save important work before quitting.
Recovery and safe sleeping
Sill reopens your tab addresses and order after a restart, loading only the active tab initially. Unsaved form contents are not stored. Pages with forms, editors, embedded content, media or active uploads stay awake when you use tab sleeping.
