Day 3 — Testing installation, upgrade, and removal

Windows 11 Sandbox testing exposed an uninstall issue and led to a corrected 32-check installer run.

Retrospective entry written October 12 from the retained project record.

What failed first

Initial Sandbox checks covered installation, paths containing spaces, external URL handling and profile-file preservation. The executable remained after uninstall, so that run was not considered a pass.

The correction

The installer’s process check was counting the uninstaller in the install folder. The NSIS check was narrowed to Sill.exe. Upgrade, uninstall and reinstall were retested; the recorded 32-check Windows 11 Enterprise run passed. A running browser is preserved rather than silently terminated.

Scope of the evidence

Profile preservation used a synthetic Windows-encrypted fixture. This was not proof of migration of every real password or card. The unsigned installer remained local; signing, Windows 10 testing and real signed update validation remained pending.
